Postdoctoral Report from Dr. Runping Ye was held at DICP

05T7 Date:2021-08-20

On August 3rd, 2021, a postdoctoral report from Dr. Runping Ye was held in the conference room on the third floor of the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis, DICP. The postdoctoral report was chaired by Prof. Xuezhi Duan from East China University of Science and Technology.

The report entitled “Engineering the Catalytic Active Sites for CO2 Hydrogenation” successfully introduced Dr. Ye’s two years work at 05T7 group. The catalytic conversion of CO2 is significant to alleviate the energy crisis and achieve the goal of carbon neutrality. In particular, the CO2 hydrogenation to methane is conducive to the transformation of electric energy power into natural gas (PtG), while the CO2 hydrogenation to methanol is beneficial to the storage and transportation of hydrogen. However, it is still difficult to largely convert CO2 into chemicals and fuels due to its chemical inertness and thermodynamic stability. Dr. Ye’s work is aimed to synthesize CO2 hydrogenation catalysts through engineering their catalytic active sites. The prepared catalysts were applied for CO2 hydrogenation to methane or methanol.
